Join DEC for an in-depth tour of Juniper Gardens Children’s Project and the new Children’s Campus of Kansas City in downtown Kansas City, Kansas. In the early intervention and early childhood special education communities, JGCP is widely recognized as a leader in research, community collaboration, measurement, and evidence-based intervention practice. The tour leaves the Westin Crown Center at 9 a.m. and will provide a historical look at how JGCP began, an opportunity to meet current faculty, a discussion of how community agencies are working together in the CCKC to improve outcomes for its youngest citizens and their families. A highlight will be a tour of the new, state-of-the-art Bounce Educare Early Childhood Center that includes infant-toddler classrooms and Head Start classrooms for preschoolers. Fee of $45 includes tour, transportation, and refreshments.
