This special workshop for doctoral students will explore options and opportunities for moving into the workplace and beyond. A panel of professionals that have ventured beyond the walls of higher education will discuss their positions, the decision making process that led them to these opportunities, and the benefits/drawbacks of their choices. Questions will be solicited from the participants.
A second panel will share their experiences and insights on the process of how to get that preferred position! The art and science of negotiation will be shared by two recent graduates, successful negotiators, and former Sexton Doctoral Leadership winners. A surprise guest negotiator will present the other side of the story.
This workshop is sponsored by the J. David Sexton workgroup in memory of one of DEC’s greatest leaders. There is no additional cost to participate; registration is required.
Information is preliminary and
subject to change. Attendees should use the Final Conference Program
(received on-site) to make their final session choices.
